Jessica Duce's profile

Web Article Typesetting: WIRED

Throughout this project, I practiced crafting extensive bodies of type for online articles, while using navigation, links, advertisements, and images. The content and images were sourced from a WIRED article, a publication renowned for its exemplary typography design. However, I noticed a gap in their online presentation, motivating me to renew the typography and explore the art of storytelling through type setting.

The article begins on a structured grid, maintaining left justification. Yet, as the narrative unfolds and the subject's life takes wrong turns, I introduced elements of disruption. The bodies of text deviate from the center, creating an intentional imbalance with sharp rags and overlapping elements. This design choice aims to visually mirror the unraveling storyline, providing a dynamic and immersive reading experience.
